I just want to let you know how much fun we have had in this house. It has a few quirks (like the parking and the trick of getting a van into the garage) but all of these things just add character to the house. The location and views are to die for. The only problem with awesome views and being right next to the water is that it is hard to get motivated to go do anything away from our “happy place.” We had to make ourselves go out and then couldn’t wait to get back. We were all completely comfortable and had a blast playing in the water and sun by day, and by playing games or music every night. We left a small Christmas tree in the garage and hung some light blue lights in the trees outside on the beach side.
I so hope we get to come stay with you again. You have been a wonderful host and went way over and beyond what was expected of an owner. Thank you so much!! Happy New Year

Aloha and mahalo Sandi, our 3rd trip to Hale Moana, each time we come we leave a little of our hearts here, this place continues to take my breath away. Your home has everything needed for a relaxing vacation, I love how the sounds and sights of the ocean just make you stop and truly appreciate everything and everyone around you. This time we recorded the sound of the ocean at night so we could take it with us. We hired bikes which were delivered to us and this was fabulous to avoid traffic a parking while the surf comps were on. I can't imagine that we won't be back for our 4th time – our favorite things are: *the ocean * sunsets * star gazing.

Hi Sandi, can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful, majestic paradise home with us. We had a really relaxing visit on the North Shore. Your home was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Felt like we were in our own home. The most amazing part of the trip was the view from the living room. Hearing the ocean sound all day and all night rocked us to sleep. What an incredible location. Close to everything. Thank you for all of your help with our complicated schedule changes. This is our third stay at this little piece of paradise. This trip was all about relaxing. Twice daily swims at the swimming hole, reading in the front yard enjoying the gorgeous ocean views, BBQ's and jigsaw puzzles at night. Writing this on our last night sitting out watching another stellar sunset. We tried the Beach House for the first time this year. It was wonderful, so wonderful we went back last night for a light dinner. Lots of new food trucks with great options. We also took a drive over to snorkel at Makua Beach on the West Side. This was the second time going there. The first time we snorkeled with tons of turtles. This year it was spinner dolphins!!! Life does not get better than this. We hope to make this an annual trip. Thanks again for making us comfortable in such a wonderful place.

We had a fantastic time at Hale Moana! We enjoyed the nearly "private" beach, the sound of the ocean, the surfers and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere - the complete opposite of Waikiki, which we wanted to avoid. We didn't know what a truly remarkable time we would have at Hale Moana, but now we believe that we have had the holiday of our life over here, at this little paradise, which we will never forget and always remember when we will go back to our ordinary, sometimes gloomy life.... Hale Moana was our Paradise for a week and our best holiday decision ever! Mahalo,

You've made our Hawaii addition a wonderful experience by sharing your home with us. We've BBQ'd shared wine, watched sunsets, we even got brave enough to swim under the light of the moon. We chose to stay on the north shore for the second half of our trip, and this place has been amazing. Looking and listening to the ocean right outside just makes you marvel at the wonders of this earth and make you feel like there's no one else around. We had fun with night photography, saw a rainbow on the ocean, swam in the calm waters right down the a beach a few minutes away. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter had so much fun and loved seeing the enormous honu make his way into the water at Laniakea Beach. We had rain from Olivia one day but enjoyed shopping at historic Haleiwa and loved Matsumoto's Shave Ice. We enjoyed fresh shrimp from Romy's, a short drive away. This place has been just what we needed - away from the hustle and bustle. Thank you!

This is our second visit to this home. We were here 3 years ago and knew we needed to return. If it weren't a 15 hour flight from our home in North Carolina we would probably be back every summer. We were so, so pleased with everything about Hale Moana! Upon entering the front door & taking in the Breath-taking view, we knew we'd made the right choice! This is our first trip to Hawaii; we're celebrating my daughter's graduation from college. It was perfect for the entire family to enjoy. She loved going north towards turtle bay to visit the fruit markets. :) Given, all we really knew about Oahu we learned from watching Hawaii 5-0 & Dog, the Bounty Hunter, we knew Honolulu wasn't going to provide the peaceful setting, so could not have been more pleased with the setting of Hale Moana! This is our 2nd visit to Hale Moana and we hope to return again. We still consider this to be our favorite vacation spot... it is perfect in so many ways - the location, view, sunsets, beach, beautiful home and hospitality. Everything needed is here, and if you need anything, Foodland is close by! Our 9 year old great niece enjoyed swimming and playing in the ocean waves, swimming with a turtle, seeing many colorful fish, building sand castles, walking the beach, and soaking up the sun. We were also lucky to see whales breaching and many surfers from the back yard. We again enjoyed Ted's Bakery - breakfast, lunch or dinner; as well as Haleiwa Joe's and Teddy's Burgers. Thanks again, Sandi, for sharing your beautiful home with us. We appreciate your generous hospitality and look forward to a return visit!!

from Mya (9 years old) - This is my 1st visit to Hale Moana and I know I'm coming again. The waves were amazing, I love the food by the way, Teds bakery and the Haleiwa Joes-their fish is amazing. I love watching the surfers. Was lucky and saw a whale and I swam with a sea turtle, building sandcastles and spending time with my family. If you need something to do then go to the Missouri Battle Ship. PS I'm from there! : ) So I hope the next guest will love Hawaii as much as I did!
What a way to celebrate my mom's 70th Birthday! Hale Moana exceeded our expectations. Breathtaking views and so peaceful we only left the house once during our stay. My mom said it was the most beautiful place she has ever been and did not want to leave. Thank you so much for providing everything we needed and the lovely bottle of wine & coffee - delicious!
