Hale Moana was a peaceful oasis from the crowds in town. I will miss the constant sound of the waves and the view! We were very comfortable and will recommend this property! Mahalo!

November

Thank you for opening your home to us, it was absolutely perfect for our first visit to Hawaii. Finding ourselves driving all over to explore it was so nice to come back to the North Shore for the sunset. We will definitely be recommending Hale Moana to family & friends for a return visit. Thank you again!

Such an amazing home. Thank you Sandi for sharing it with us. We really needed a rest and some healing ocean swims to restore ourselves after a month long adventure around the U.S. We loved being able to swim and snorkel without having to get in the car and brave the crowds. This is a truly special home. Many thanks.

Thank you! We had an amazing stay, everything was wonderful. We will remenber our time here as one of our favorites.

--Michelle, Steve, Leah, Howard - San Diego, California

We absolutely loved staying here! We couldn't have imagined or asked for a better place to stay. Thank you for welcoming us into this home. We snorkeled every day. We sat and read and visited outside each morning. We visited the Waimea Valley Botanical Gardens. So beautiful...  We drove around the island and stopped at Kualoa Ranch and the Byodo-In Temple and had dinner in Waikiki. We shopped in Haleiwa, had shaved ice at Matsumoto Shave Ice, then rented stand up paddle boards and paddled up the river. So fun! We had a great time here. I hope we get to return! Sincerely

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home. The views are amazing and the beach is just perfect. This is our first trip to Hawaii and I couldn't imagine a better location. The memories we have shared this week have been incredible. We head back home to New Orleans, but our hearts will remain here.

--Nicole, Edward, Cole & Rory - Metairie, Louisiana

Hale Moana is a truly magical place! We spent four nights here - our first stop on our trip from North Carolina. We saw an absolutely spectacular sunset on our first night here, we went snorkeling outside your back door, we watched sea turtles in the surf, we saw what I think was a Hawaiian Monk Seal, we woke for the sunrise every morning we were here - and all that without even leaving your beautiful home! We found the North Shore to be so laid back and welcoming. Simply can't imagine a more lovely place... thank your for sharing your home with us and for all your thoughtful touches. Blessings to you and yours always. Mahalo.

July

Hale Moana was our 2nd stop of our Hawaiian Vacation. We were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities in the house, as well as the central location to all the activities on the North Shore. The views and beach location are wonderful! The sunsets are memorable. And the geckos were entertaining too. We enjoyed just relaxing inside and outside the home. If we were to come back to the North Shore this house would be at the top of our list. Mahalo.

This home was exactly what we imagined and are so happy that we stayed at this home. It accommodated our family perfectly. I loved waking up every day to the sounds of the waves. The house had just about everything that we needed, and if it didn't then there was a local store right down the road. The host was amazing! We booked way in advance, but she kept us updated for everything along the way. While we were here we ran into one small problem and she went above and beyond to fix this issue. There were only two downsides of the home but this wasn't something the host could fix. #1 traffic. I understand busy traffic but the traffic right before the house was terrible. We had an easier time going to Honolulu then we did the house. If we wanted to go down the road for lunch then we had to make sure we had time. #2 rough waves. - We planned on snorkeling in front of the house but instead we went over to our spot in Waialua. Getting past those two cons we LOVED staying here and would love to stay again.

Aloha! This is the best place in Haleiwa, in Oahu, in Hawaii, in USA, in all over the world - except our home in Hungary. The house and garden is absolutely clean, nice and pleasure. If you are at home (here) you wouldn't like to go anywhere, because of the view, the ocean, the sunset. We saw turtles on the beach and we swam with them. Sandi gave us every information, she was very helpful. So far we wrote the good, now for the wrong: Hawaii is too far from Hungary : )  Our rate is ***** + 5 stars + 5 stars + 5 stars + 5 stars......   Thank you, Mahalo, Köszönjük

--Arpad, Zsuzsa, Agnes, Hunor - Budapest, Hungary

We came from Las Vegas for vacation. Two little kids 6 & 9 years old. The beach was great for them. They could snorkel, build sand castles, walk on the reef and safely play in the calmer water by the reef. We watched the sunset and had the luxury of perfect timing to also watch the moon set. This location could not be any more perfect for everything to do on the North Shore. We had everything we needed in the house and even had a few meals at the house. The house was very clean and you could not ask for a better host. Sandi was very responsive and helpful. She made us feel right at home. We are relocating to the South Shore today, but are now wishing we would have stayed at the Hale Moana for our entire trip - even if we had to make the drive to South Shore for activities. We were very comfortable in Hale Moana and are sad to leave. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for a safe and relaxing place to call home... if only for five days. Mahalo!

--Stephanie, Bradley, Jaxson & Savannah - Las Vegas, Nevada

Our family came for a vacation. We had 5 adults and two friends stayed close. Sandy told us the sunsets were amazing and she was right. We did many of the sites on this amazing island. Polynesian Cultural Center, catamaran ride, Dole, Pearl Harbor, beach snorkeling, swap meet, churches, etc. The best part was staying in this house, in this location. It is so centrally located and made our adventures so much easier. The beauty, water, beaches, and water sports were great!! This house is so accommodating and well equipped. We are blessed to have spent a week here. Thank you so much.

June

Hale Moana is the loveliest, most magical place on the North Shore. It is truly breathtaking! My entire family came back home to Oahu from the mainland to celebrate my sister and her husband renewing their wedding vows. We are so happy they chose the north shore as their location. All of my siblings and their families, my aunties and my mom were all staying in town. But we lucked out and got the best place to stay. The view, the beach, the turtles, the sunsets... the list of beautiful experiences could go on forever. Thank you for a lovely stay!

--Jennifer & Michelle, Teg & Hollin - Parker, Colorado

We had the most magical time staying at Hale Moana. We've been best friends since we were still in diapers back in Texas and came from California, NYC & Texas to celebrate our 30th birthdays together on the beautiful North Shore. Sandi - your house is truly something out of a daydream. Watching the sunset every evening over the ocean was something we'll never forget. We're so sad to be leaving this little slice of Heaven! I have a feeling we'll be back one day... XOXO

May

We had a great little staycation spending our days relaxing and going with the flow. We love the sound of the ocean at night and watching the waves during the day. Couldn't think of a better place to forget about the outside world and unplug for a bit. Spending a few days here was an awesome way to spend part of our last week living on Oahu before moving back to the mainland. We cannot wait to come back and stay here on our next vacation back to this beautiful island.

--Cyle, Erin Lillian, Kai and Baby #3 - Milwaukee, Wisconsin & Kailua, Hawaii

Thank you for opening your home for us to enjoy. Our family had such a great time visiting the North Shore. Every day we set out to enjoy activities offered (ziplining, Waimea Botanical Garden, Haunama Bay, Pearl Harbor) only to return to the breathtaking beach your home has to boogie board, walk, and snorkel in the afternoons. Loved seeing all the lizards, birds and geckos. We also had fun watching the turtles feed in the rocks and even had the opportunity to see a turtle on the beach napping. <3 wildlife.

-- Matt, Pam, Paige (13) & Cameron (10). - Kirkland, Washington

We had an amazing time in your home! We have been to the islands many times but had never stayed on the North Shore. We will be back! Although our stay was brief, we made the most of our time here - primarily by never leaving! The home had everything we needed and more. We even discussed exploring other beaches but decided it couldn't get better than this view, lack of crowds, entertaining surfers, comfortable seating (inside & out) and very often the entire beach to ourselves. Mahalo for your hospitality!

-- Kim & Tom - Fort Worth, Texas

Second time here didn't disappoint - We love the location from the scenery out the windows to the proximity of a wide range of activities. What continues to outdo all is the welcome feeling we get when booking and then arriving for our stay - Mahalo! First time here was to celebrate friends' marriage and second time was to share Hawaii with our 82 year old mother - a trip she'll always cherish - (us too). We're already checking our calendar to plan a return trip.

April

Sandi, Mahalo nui loa for sharing your house AGAIN with us!! We had a wonderful time and will be visiting again, I'm sure! We bought a new beach umbrella for you - our gift - as the old one disintegrated - ha. Thanks for having "noodles" & boogie boards that we could & did use too. Mahalo and can't wait to come again.

March

Hale Moana, the house by the sea takes my breath away. The house, yard, and view of the ocean is amazing. My family and I were so blessed to spend the month of March here. Upon arriving we went to the deck and gasped at the ocean. It was so beautiful. The crashing waves were like a song. Two whales greeted us by blowing and breaching. We spent many days exploring different beaches. About 2:30 - 3:00 everyone wanted to go HOME. Yes, we called it home. We all enjoyed watching the awesome sunsets, BBQing outside and enjoying our dinner. Today is my last day here. Two whales were sighted as if to say "Goodbye". We will return to this paradise again. Thank you again.

-- Anita, Curt, Julie, Don, James and Janel - Edgewood, Washington

We did come from Washington State - snow, ice and freezing cold at home. How nice to be in warm O'AHU.

February

Aloha! We are so thankful we were able to return to this beautiful house. Our trip was amazing and we loved walking on the beach or relaxing with the sliding doors open listening to the waves crash. We loved eating at the nearby food trucks and shopping. The snorkeling and driving we did as we explored Oahu helped create this amazing experience. Thank you so much for renting us your stunning home - we enjoyed every second of it. The amazing view and ocean waves and comforting house provided us with the vacation we needed. We hope to return to your wonderful home for a 3rd time.

P.S. We also were thrilled to reconnect with your neighbor and his dog. Farfel :)

Mahalo! Sincerely...

--David, Ellen, Heather, Lisa, Sarah - New Boston, New Hampshire

Again our stay was wonderful! Gerry and I always look forward to returning to Hale Moana. This trip we brought close friends and all of us got our necessary reboot while enjoying paradise. Take care and until our next visit, Mahalo.

--Nancy & Gerry - Dallas, Texas; Merrilee & Jim - Jackson, Mississippi

This was the first stop on our first visit to the islands. A bit rainy but the views were still gorgeous. Sandi was great & very helpful.

--Lisa & Coy - Saginaw, Texas; Joe & Amy - Mansfield, Texas

We have been to Hawaii 3 times previously but have never stayed in such a fantastic house in a very special setting. Weather was bit of a shock to us but meant we did a lot of sight seeing all over the island. Never thought we would be able to say we saw 60 feet waves at Waimea Bay - absolutely brilliant. Last day we were able to open sliding glass doors, can see why it would be so special in the summer. Many thanks to Sandra & Glenn for all your help through the storm and gifts as well.

--Melani, Meredith & Kevin - Darwin, Australia

January

Our 9th visit to what we now consider our 2nd home town. (10th anniversary booked!) What started as a winter surf trip has turned into much more, although the surf never disappoints! We truly feel at home at Hale Moana. Best view, great surfing, swims down in the cove and beautiful sunsets. Why would we ever go anywhere else?!  Food Rec. - After Macky's Shrimp lost their lease a few years ago we have been on a search for the best garlic shrimp and this year found it! Jenny's Shrimp in town, right before you get to Killer Tacos. #1 - Believe me, I have tried them all!

-- Colleen, Karsten, Aaron & Regan  - Aliso Viejo, California

Hi this is Colleens daughter (9 yrs old). I had so much fun here, we got in the water every day. I am so sad we have to leave. I went out in the water outside of your house and I surfed. It was a blast and I got the wave of my life. Thank you so so sooooo much for letting us stay here. The whole entire time here I had a sea animal for dinner. Night 1 - shrimp, 2 - shrimp, 3 - shrimp, 4 - crab cakes, 5 - ahi, 6 - shrimp. I hope the next people that come have as much fun as we did. Love, Regan.

This is Aaron (13). I just wanted to say how much fun I had. I surfed every day and got the best ride of my life...   I was able to spend a lot of my time with my family. Mahalo.
